Jessica was a wonderful first born daughter, big sister and friend to everyone she encountered. She has a deep love and compassion for young children and wanted to be an elementary school teacher. She loved playing volleyball, playing a Barrista at church on Sunday morning and giving great big hugs. Her smile would light up a bright sunny day and her laugh was contagious. She has a strong relationship with her God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we know we will see her again! Jessica Hannah Blanck was 21 years old and was celebrating with her friend, Krissy Shaddix on Krissy's 21st birthday. The two were returning home from dancing at a club in downtown Portland. The two had NOT consumed any alcohol! (0 BAC at autopsy) A 37 yr old woman who was drunk and driving the wrong way struck Jessica's car head on at mile post 2 on Highway 14 in Vancouver, WA at about 3 AM. The suspect had a .189 BAC and lived, both Krissy and Jessica died at the scene. The homicide suspect received what amounts to a 2 year prison sentence as Washington politicians handcuff judges and force pillow soft sentences due to a wish to spend the state's money on other things.
