I think if a person can afford to go out and drink, then theycan afford a cab,Think before killing anyone.I am totaly against drunks, and drunk drivers. They take lifes, they should get death also.I could go on and on about how I hate drunk drivers,But I believe they do need to bring back the death penatility. You kill you die too. Hey Ya'll. When I was in high school during 2000-2004, our high school put on the whole program. It was devastating to act this out as if our best friends were killed in an accident of some sort, all related to some sort of alcohol abuse. Some were killed by a drunk driver, some were in the car with a drunk driver, some were just acting stupid after drinking. It hit hard. Everything came true. As one of your statements said about Every 15 Minutes works, a person comes in and tells their testimony on how they were affected by someone being killed in this sort of situation. Well in 2004, Manteca High School in Manteca, California brought in an officer from the Lodi area. He looked really familiar and I started to think of why I already knew him. He started explaining the situation of his son dying. As he was explaining what had happened it snapped. It was my friend he was talking about, and Officer Williams was telling the story. I hadn't known that he had came onto his son's death scene. Just knowing that he saw his son's feet and knew, would devastate me because I now have a son and just thinking of losing my boy would kill me. But thank you so much for helping some people realize that it just doesn't pay off to drink. You can't help those who are on the road and drink but you can help your friends. Well, Thank you again. You definitely have made my life different by opening my eyes more. Thank you. Littlefield, TX Neomi Thomas (Hawley) Jul 11, 2007

It is so great to have you all around to teach teens and kids about drunk driving and the results from it. My grandpa about killed himself one night comming back from a party and was drunk and run through a fence and the post just barely missed his face, and it completely totaled his car!! DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, IT CAN CAUSE YOUR LIFE OR ANOTHERS!!! Keep it safe and DON'T drive under the influence!! Russell Springs, Ky. Laura Owens Jul 5, 2007

My grandson participated in the program a few years ago at El Toro HS. It had a great inpact on him. Sad to say my grandaughter Stephanie McGill from Jackson NJ was killed by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the highway. He was killed himself and managed to miss 2 cars and a tractortrailer before hitting her head on. She was only 20 years old and leaves a grieving family of 3 sisters, mom and dad a extented wealth of family who loved her so much. I plan on shouting from the rooftops about this program and hope it at least saves someone, but of course this can never happen to me! Pompton Plains, NJ diane brancato Jun 24, 2007

After this program came to me school i realised how short life really can be.drinking and smoking may be fun for some peoples but for others its terrifying....my little brother and 4 friends were killed in a car accident after a drunk driver hit them...my little brother was my everything and to sit there and watch him die killed me..i can't believe this was even happening right before my eyes...family and friends are my life practiacly....i hate when peopls drink and drive...it's just the stupidest move to make in your life...why kill others when your having fun?....but this program really opened my eyes....i now look at life in a different way but for better and i changed alot of things about me...im not helping young kids and teens with tragidy's that have hit there family or community's that may have out an affect on theire young lifes..but my point is that i love everything about this 15 minutes program is helps and opens eyes ALOT!!!....so help others save a life and prevent tragidy's like these one's Jacqueliine Jun 22, 2007

Our school just did this program and I can say that it left such an impact on me despite that I have watched shows that reenact this. The dramatization on Los Alamitos High School felt so real. Now, I will never drink and drive, thanks to EFM. Melanie Jun 16, 2007

I've heard about this event both on news and from the high school I'm going to attend, and I think it's a very good chance to persuade and tell others to think about what could happen when you drink. The sorrowful truth is that, indeed, every fifteen minutes another accident is made because of a drunk driver, and honestly, we have to stop it. This is an inspiring event, and a strong one at that. As a soon-to-be freshmen, I hope that others are as touched by this program as I am. Freesia Amaryllis Jun 16, 2007

HI, I am a grandmother raising my two young grandchldren ages 5 and 11. Drug Addiction took their mother away to jail, but she is still alive. This website is absoulutely by far the most important thing our children of today needs to experience, This Program, first hand and all Schools it should be mandatory yet unexpected. I beieve all Parents would gladly Fund this Program for thier childs School. I cannot recommend this site and this program enough! Thank you all for everything you have done here, and your efforts to make this program available to everyone. I pray for the families that this tragic reality has touched their lives. Thank You. I saw Good Morning America on 6-7-07. I thought the Every 15 Minutes program is something so powerful and the message is so important that I emailed the Principal of my daughter's high school to suggest that they look in to getting this program there. I offered my time to help that happen. Sharyn Friedman Buffalo Grove, IL Sharyn Friedman Jun 8, 2007

I participated as the parent who talked with the students that took part in the EFM program at Bonita HS,La Verne,CA. My son had been killed the July before the May prom 2006 by a hit and run drunk driver. The La Verne police department asked my husband and I to speak to the students on the night that they were taken away from their friends and family. Although it was extremely difficult thing to do, it helped so much in the healing process to know that if even one student is saved by not drinking and driving, it was worth all the efforts that it takes to put this program on. Keep it going it does make a difference. Marilyn Beckman Jun 7, 2007

This is a great program. I am a student and region representative for the state of Florida for SADD and I think this program should be emplimented in every school each and be mandatory. I learned about this on Good Morning America this morning. Mandy Lancaster Jun 7, 2007

I think that this program really hit home for alot of these kids who have either drank and drove or who have thought about doing it! We never had anything like this back in my days of High School but we also knew better. This is the best influence I have yet to see make its way across the nation and I support it 100%. I WAS SO MOVED BY THE PIECE THAT WAS DONE ON G.M.A ABOUT TEENS AND ALCOHOL. I USED TO BE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND I USED TO PULL TEENS FROM CARS AND IT REALLY BOTHERED ME THAT SOMEONE SO YOUNG WOULD WASTE THEIR LIFE, ALL BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO DRINK. I USE TO GO AROUND TO AREA SCHOOLS TALKING ABOUT THE DANGERS OF ALCOHOL AND SEAT BELT WEARING, MY GOAL WAS TO REACH JUST ONE TEEN, THEN I'VE DONE MY JOB. I THINK EVERY SCHOOL SHOULD HAVE THIS, THIS IS TRUE REALITY RIGHT DOWN TO THE CORE. FENTON, MICH HEIDI MADSEN Jun 7, 2007

I just watched GMA and was brought to tears to see such an awesome program in place. I have often felt reality and smart fear are the way to motivate kids to make the right choices. I have an 11yr old and 9mon. old son and am concerned for their safety and their decisions. I think this program will be instrumental in the understanding of consequences. Thank you for my family and all the others this will effect. Austin, Tx Linda Gilliam Jun 7, 2007

I watched Good Morning America today and thought that the piece of Every 15 Minutes was aired at the perfect time as students are getting ready to graduate. It was very informative and being a mom, I hope that a program like that will be brought to this area, so students know. It is really scary knowing that someone is killed every 15 minutes, my heart goes out to families that have had to go through this. Please keep up the good work, and thank you~Katrina Carneys Point, NJ Katrina Watkins Jun 7, 2007

After watching this story on GMA, I had to share it in online communities I am in. I also plan on showing this site to my 16yr old daughter, who will be getting her driving permit soon and who will be dating soon as well. I plan on sending this to our school district, to try and encourage them to get involved in this program. I have seen that larger schools in our area have done this, and I want the smaller schools to get involved as well. Thank you for this---I truly hope it helps bring more awareness to our communities! I really wish they would have had this program years ago. When I was in ninth grade I had 7 friends in a months time killed due to drunk driving accidents. In one of the accidents my best friend was thrown through the front window and into a tree and killed instantly. The other one 5 of my friends were at a basketball game and a boy from another school stole a teachers car. He was drunk speeding down a street were there closed off the bridge that was being worked on and went off into the river where all of my friends drowned in the car. He was the only one who got out and the only one who could swim. My friends never got to see high school, proms, graduation or even be an adult. In the second accident it was my 15 year old friend and her 8 year old sister. They had the funeral for those 5 kids all together at the biggest church in town. The said thing about it was the funeral made front page, but, nothing was ever mentioned about the accident or done to the boy because he was a minor. Baton Rouge, LA Helen M. Banks Jun 7, 2007

Our school has participated a couple of times in this type of program and it really does impact the whole community. The kids that are in high school now have not been a part of this because it has been several years. I feel it very important to put this issue in the kids faces because nothing seems to get their attention. They don't understand why we as parents worry when they are out. Thank you for this service because I know you have saved some lives in the process. Port Lavaca, TX Lesa Jurek Jun 7, 2007

I graduated in 2005 from Chesterton High School. In high school I did drink a lot (especially my junior year). Since then, however, I have grown up *a lot* and am involved in my youth group at church: both middle schoolers and high schoolers. The stories they share with me are very real and scary, and I just wanted to say that after watching your scenerios on the News this morning, I am truly touched and moved by your passion to prevent such things from happening. It's very true that teens are "fearless" and therefore think they can get away with driving while intoxicated, but you have instilled a fear by role playing this statistic.
I have been involved in role playing skits in front of our 7th and 8th graders for reasons why not to drink and smoke, but this is truly phenomenal!
I just wanted to stop by and say THANKS. I'm sure you get many thanks and compliments, but truly an inspiration. Keep it up...

I seen the segment on Good Morning America... It brought back memories forme from when i was in highschool. We re-acted the Every 15 Minutes and I belive that it touched allot of our classmates at the time. Its just like the commericals say... " you protect your children from th dangers when they are small, protect them from the dangers of Drugs and alcohol. I have lost a few friends to drunk driving, you dont realize how hard it is to pick up the phone and want to call them, and noone is there! I just wish that people would realize if you cant walk... you cant drive. Monica Jun 7, 2007

This week in our area of NC, there has been a drunk driving accident reported EVERY DAY on the news. No kidding. As the mother of a 15 year old who will be taking driver's ed. this summer, who will be on the road before I know it, this program should be seen by every high school in the country. No matter how good our kids are, no matter how much they think they know-they do not always fully grasp the idea that dead is forever. I commend those of you have have participated in this very challenging program. Thank you for saving the lives of our kids. It's helping. They hear you. Deborah McReady Jun 7, 2007

I am not yet in high school, but i saw at the high school near me, Caney Creek High, What went on On the day of our Every 15 minutes program. It was saddening adn very eerie to see the reapers, victims, and all of the scenarios around the school. I was deeply touched and affected by all of it, and am looking foward to taking part in the reenactments and such when i get into High School, and perhaps helping in spreading awareness of the seriousness and fatality of drunk driving by affacting the hearts of others as this program has affected me.
Good work. Jacqueline Jun 6, 2007

My Daughter was the driver in the 15 minutes program. It brought tears to my eyes knowing she was responsible for the deaths of others at our expense. It was even more sobering when the students at Perris High School had just had a horrific accident that really did kill 4 students just two days proir to the event at her high school. You kids out there reading this - IT'S FOR REAL! PEOPLE DIE EVERYDAY

I remember an incident in high school when a group of us where going down to the desert to go play in the sand. 2 girls and 4 guys, last minute the guys decided not to let us girls go. In the morning we found out that the driver of the jeep rolled it and another really close friend was killed. it has been over 25 yrs. and i have never forgotten the friend we lost or how it felt to see Derricks car in the parking lot where he left it that fateful night , or the funeral, his family, the sadness and everyone of our group , except Robert the driver of the jeep; he was in jail for D.U.I. Robert's mom was at the funeral and I don't know who hurt worse, Derricks mom for loosing her son, or Robert's mom knowing that her son killed his life long best friend. I wish this program was around back in the day, so we could of learned from interactive scenarios and not have to be part of the real aspect of a D.U.I. fatality. Daphne Stoba May 31, 2007

I participated in the Every 15 Minutes program at Notre Dame High School in Bethlehem, Pa. and it was the most powerful program that anyone has ever put together. I'm 15 years old and I knew two people who died as the result of an alcohol related crash (they were drinking too), this program does what it is supposed to do and that is to get the attention of the teens watching and to open their eyes to the dangers of drinking and driving. The day the "Living Dead" walked around the school gave the day a different feel than every other day. People in some of my classes told me "your taking it to seriously" or "It's just staged you don't have to take it so seriously" but to me and everyone in the program it wasn't fake or staged, it was real. If this program keeps even only one person from drinking and driving, it did what it was supposed to, and that is to raise awareness about this growing problem. This program taught me more than I ever thought it would. Please, pass this program's story on so that we can lessen the drunk driving statistics. DON'T DRINK and DRIVE or GET IN a CAR WITH ANYONE WHO HAS!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! Blake J. Stevens May 28, 2007

I just witnessed the program at school. It was emotional and made a large impact on me and my friends. Everyone around me was crying during the "Memorial" video. It really hit us how much drunk driving affects us. I don't think I will ever drink or let a drunk person drive. I couldn't ruin someone's life like that, if I could have stopped it. I lost my dad, so I know how hard it is to lose a family member. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Celestina May 27, 2007

This past week i have participated in every 15 minutes. I personally think that this program is the best around. It really opens your eyes to what can happen to you. Everyone thinks they are invinsible and Every 15 Min helps you relize that you arnt. I personally dint participate in the accident scene i was the walking dead. but i had to watch my best friends die. I just wanted to write a little somthing. I have learned so much from the program! I'm now a senior at Chowchilla Union High School. I believe that with the every 15 minutes program that it may have saved a lot of your students from doing something that they would regret for the rest of their live that if they would have made it out of the accident. The emtion and they looks on our students face fro those two days was just great how the reality of life and what can really happen to you if you get behind the wheel after just having one drink. i was surpised on how well that it really hit our students in the face with what they can do with a car and a drink. I'mo glad that my high school chose to be a part of the every 15 minute. So to all of the people that was a part of this program for my school it was a great thing and so I thank everyone that helped and made this a reality to the students at Chowchilla Uuion High School. On april 19th and 20th my school Saint Mary;s High school was shown the dramatic Every 15 Minutes program. when i heard ther was going to be an assembly about drunk driving i though ok no big deal right then i was hearing that they were going to show us this huge to day thing then it hit me. in 2004 my brother and sisted told me about this really good assembly that they had about drunk driving called every i5 minutes and thats when i realized i would get my chance to experance it. Knowing what was going to happen i still to this day cry just thinking about it. on the first day when i saw the scene the munit they pulled the cover off i balled. I learned how effective this realy is on people. I just wanna thank the people who put all of their time and tramendious effort they put into such a wonderful, unforgtfull memory.

This program is very impotant to pay a lot of attetion to because it tells you to make the right choices and decisions. NEVER GET IN A CAR WITH A DRUNK DRIVER. It has shown me that people die every 15 minutes from drunk driving accidents, and people have lost someone they love to that and I do not want to end up like them. Jenna Kershaw May 23, 2007

Today we had our "Every 15 Minutes" presentation at our school. I really didnt know what to expect. I was horrified the view the scene first hand, right in front of my eyes. It was SO realistic and i honestly didnt know what to say. I swore to myself long ago that i would NEVER do something like drink and drive, and now i know the consequences to back me up if i ever have a moment of weakness about drinking at a party or something, then driving. It was all so realistic and shocking to me.....i hope some of the people watching will want to change their ways after seeing the accident and knowing that that could be them, or their best friend, or their brother or sister on the hood of the smashed car. Hopefully, they will think about what they experienced BEFORE they drink and drive.
DONT BE A STATISTIC! Lauren May 22, 2007

The EFM program was recently at my school. A lot of my dear friends were involved as the"living dead." Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the entire assembly the day prior to the memorial service. The program really hit home when I witnessed how tragic the scene of an alcohol related crash really is. I recently lost my closest aunt to an alcohol related car crash within the last month and a half and I got a huge dose of reality seeing the crash scene up close and personal. The last time that I saw my aunt was on the news where she was pronounced dead on impact. I really appreciate what everyone apart of the Every Fifteen Minutes program is doing. Many of my friends don't realize what the fatal effects of drinking and driving are and now that they have seen it, maybe they will think twice and make the right decision. Thank you very much for allowing people to save not only other lives but their own as well. Christa D. V. May 22, 2007

The Every 15 MinutesProgram was a really good program at my school Mingus Union High. When Brandon Wacker came up to me and asked if I wanted to be in the program I asked what it was and he said that it would be in a meeting if I was interested. I told him yes. My older sister was in it also and some of our other friends. My sister, some of my friends, and I were the living dead. When the day came for the mock accedent me and my friends cryed sooo hard then my sister cryed when they got Nyolette out of the car and started CPR, I cryed even harder when they got Katy out of the front windsheild. I will never hold an alcohalic drink in my hands EVER. I cant what for the next program in two years when I'm a junior. Cottonwood, AZ Robin Dawson May 21, 2007

I have recently been chosen to be one of the living dead at my school. WE have not had our every15 minutes program yet. but we will soon, i dont know how it will happen, or how my friends will react, i tell them everything, but i cant tell them this.I wonder how they will react when they learn i am "dead", its truly a sad thing to participate in, because the name every 15 minutes, speaks for itself. Its a true honor to have been chosen by my school and participate, to raise awareness of the terrible events that happen every quarter of an hour. Amanda May 20, 2007

Im a senior at mount shasta high school and a member of the video production class. A few months ago, my professor approached me and asked if i would like to be part of a top secret operation at our school. I was intrigued and quickly agreed. As the days went on and i learned more and more about every fifteen minutes, i became more and more passionate about the feelings, emotions, and thoughts that this was going to provoke in my classmates. In my small town, we have had several people die or go to prison becasue of an accident caused by drunk driving. It is something that has and continues to affect our community. Six years ago, our school did an every fifteen minutes program and now we are repeating it. I had the chance to watch the video from the last production and i have to say, i was blown away. hearing about it and seeing what it really looks like are two different experiences.Every fifteen minutes is happening at our school this upcoming thursday. i can only hope that it will make a change in our school and that kids will think before the next time they drink and drive. I have seen first hand what drinking and driving can do to someone. I lost a Girlfriend to an 18 year old student back in 1992. In 2003 I found this great program through the Henderson Police Dpt. In Henderson, Nevada. I think this is a great program and needs to shared through out the United States. I am now working on bringing this great program to the Colorado Springs, Co area. I think this program is strong and has a great meaning behind it. Keep up the great work. James F. May 18, 2007

I just completed the Every 15 Minutes program as one of the living dead. The program through my eyes was succesful and it really opened up my awarness that it shouldn't take one accident or one death to get people to realize the consequences. This program helped spread that awarness. I hope the program made a difference and that we might have saved some lives. Ukiah, Ca Tania S. May 18, 2007

I am a 17 year old Junior at Pacific Grove High School and after the program yesterday and today i have decided that im going to change alot. This really touched me and opened up my eyes. I had 2 of my good friends die of drinking and driving and when that happend it really didnt touch me like i thought i did. But after seeing what happens and what the parents have to go through i have a whole new aspect on life and drinking and driving. As soon as I walked in my schools gym today for the memorial for the kids that "lost" their lives in the crash yesterday, i started balling. And to see their parents get up there and try to read letters but coudnt because they were crying so bad, i couldnt take it any more. I never want to see my parents go through that. Especially because my mom lives in North Carolina and it would be even harder for her. I used to not care about drinking and driving but i can honestly say now that i will never do it again. Words cant even explain the feeling i have right now. But to see my friends up there that "died" i couldnt take it. I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR DOING THE PROGRAM. AND I WILL NEVER FOR GET IT.

Today we started our every 15 minutes at my school. When I was a Freshmen I saw the movie of that year. And Seeing the crashed cars and my friends in the car moved me in such a way that it was so scary. Recently 3 kids in my community have died because of car accidents, and seeing the crashed cars and my friends being taken off in an ambulance was just so horrible. This program is so great and I'm glad my school does it every 2 years. Though I wish it was every year. El Cajon, CA Cambria May 17, 2007

Today at school, i saw this program in an accident form and then an assembly. During the assembly, the living dead shared a letter they wrote to their family and friends. Some parents also participated and read letters they wrote to their children. It was very powerful and deep and nearly everyone cried, especially those up there, spilling their feelings, forgeting that everything was just pretend. It was hard to stay and watch but i did. To know that this really happens breaks my heart to pieces. I cried so much today and after the assembly, you just wanted to hug all your friends, cry with them, and tell them how much you love them. You just wanted to be with your mom and dad and just hold them and cry. This program was amazing. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible. Tehachapi, CA Carina May 17, 2007

I was lucky enough to have been involved in coordinating an Every 15 Minutes at Kewaunee High School in Kewaunee, WI while I was a student teacher. The program teaching an amazing lesson to our young people, and touched the faculty and staff just as much. This program is an incredible testimonial to making good choices, and I plan to take the program with me as I become a full-fledged teacher. Erin Sigler May 16, 2007

I live in Placer county California, a recent article in the Granite Bay High School newspaper, "The Gazette', the article was written by student Juliana Fehrenbacher.
The topic was about teenage drinking, titled Police alcohol policies lenient?
In the article the interview officer Scott Jeter from the city of Roseville police department, is quoted that "the police department generally does not worry about minors "kicking back" and having alcoholic beverage in a small group of friends; however it's when large parties get out of control that police are notified.
I feel this is a total contradiction to the Every 15 minutes program, and is sending the wrong message to teens that the police don't care if you drink, as long as it is in small groups.
In your website under the "about us", this is listed by you:
The focus of the assembly stresses that the decision to consume alcohol can affect many more people than just the one who drinks. This very emotional and heart-wrenching event will illustrate to students, the potentially dangerous consequences of their use of alcohol, regardless of how casual they believe their use may be.
I am hoping that you take the time to contact this department and tell them that this is the wrong message to tell our teens. Too many lives are lost by drinking, and you don't have to be behind to wheel to die, teens die from being poisoned by alcohol too.
Thank you
Maria Higgins.

MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2007 EVERY 15 MINUTES CAME TO KENNEDY HIGH. YOU GUYS DID THE REGULAR RUTINE AND CAPTURED SEVERAL STUDENTS,(THE LIVING DEAD), WHO HAPPEN TO BE MY FRIENDS THROUGHOUT THAT DAY, WHICH I DIDN'T TAKE TOO SERIOUSLY. THE DAY OF THE MOCK FUNERAL WAS ON OF THE HARDEST THINGS FOR ME TO SIT THROUGH, THE THOUGHT OF ONE OF MY FRIENDS DYING JUST FROM COMING FROM A PARTY THAT I MAY HAVE BEEN HOLDING KILLED ME. EVERY SO OFTEN I USE TO THROW "KICK BACKS" WHICH IS JUST WHEN A BUNCH OF KIDS GET TOGETHER WE DRINK AND LISTEN TO MUSIC. THE GIRLS CAN STAY THE NIGHT BUT AT MY KICK BACKS THE BOYS HAD TO LEAVE. SO WHEN I THOUGHT THAT ONE OF MY GUY FRIENDS COULD HAVE BEEN LEAVING MY HOUSE AND DIED JUST TRYING TO GO HOME, AND TO SEE THE DEVISTATED PARENTS, IT JUST REALLY GOT TO ME. THAT TUESDAY, MARCH 22 AFTER THAT ASSEMBLY I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULD NEVER THROW ANOTHER KICK BACK LIKE THAT AGAIN, BECAUSE THAT ASSEMBLY WAS REAL ENOUGH FOR ME. UNFORTUNATELY, EXACTLY ONE WEEK AFTER 15 MINUTES CAME TO MY SCHOOL, MARCH 28, THE SITUATION WAS ALL TOO REAL. ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS DIED IN A DRUNK DRIVING ACCIDENT, SHE HAD JUST TURNED 17 AND WASN'T EVEN DRINKING. A DRUNK DRIVER HIT HER AND KILLED HER, HE SISTER, HER FRIEND, AND HER 20 MONTH OLD NEPHEW. THIS STORY WAS ALL OVER THE NEWS IT WAS SO HARD FOR ME TO DEAL WITH THIS TRAGEDY NOT ONLY BECAUSE SHE WAS MY FRIEND. BUT BECAUSE THIS PROGRAM HAD JUST CHANGED ALL OF MY FRIENDS LIVES AND WE DECIDED WE DIDN'T WANT TO EVER HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THAT FOR REAL, BUT ONE WEEK LATER WE DID.I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU GUYS WHO RUN THIS PROGRAM, BECAUSE FOR ME TO SIT IN THAT MOCK FUNERAL WAS ENOUGH, BUT FOR EVERYONE ITS NOT ENOUGH. AND MY FRIENDS DEATH REALLY BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION THAT EVERY 15 MINUTES ITS SOMEONE, AND NO ONE IS EXEMPT PLEASE CONTINUE TO ENCOURAGE KIDS THAT THIS IS SO REAL. JUANITA May 14, 2007

I think that the Every 15 Minutes website is really good for people to get on. I'm only in 3rd grade but the 5th graders were doing projects on drunk driving. And it just so happens that one of the projects had pictures off of the Every 15 Minutes website. Me and my friend were so shocked that we promised to eachother that we would never take drugs. Because we saw pictures of people that hit their heads or died in an accident, we really freaked out!! So I just want everyone to encourage people never to take any kinds of drugs. If you're not that old like me, don't think that people won't listen to you! People will after they see one of their loved ones die because of that. But let's hope that none of yours or mine will ever have that happen to them. ~Hannah~ Ringgold, GA Hannah May 14, 2007

We just got done doing the Every 15 Minutes at my school, Golden Sierra, it was cool and sad. At first it was like a "whatever" thing and I didnt think of it as much, but then I started to relize that this could happen to me, or my family, or my friends. It didnt hit me until today at the final get together with the upper classmen. I was trying to firgure out why we where doing all of this, I mean fakeing a crash, dressing people up like they are dead, all this for what? None of this could ever happen to me! I figured that no one at my school has ever delt with this, so whats the big deal? wow, I was wrong! This woman came up and talked about her daughter that died from an under the influence driver and they showed a slde show about this girl. Then you saw some of her friends talking about her, I looked over at my best friend Charisse and I asked myself..."What if that was me talking about her?, What would I do if my best friend, a girl I have known since the 3rd grade just randomly died?" I flet my heart start to tern cold. Now I relize what the whole thing is about. It made me relize how I need to take the time to tell the people around me that I love them why I can because something like a drunk driver can come along and take someone I love away from me. Not just a drunk driver, anyone.
TAKE THE TIME TO LOVE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

I just saw this at my school today, May 11. I wonder if it's me, that I never really can understand what it feels like to have a friend or family member die from drunk driving, but I am 100% sure I never want to.A few kids don't care, they just laugh and joke; I feel like smacking them. But I don't..I suppose if they don't understand when this real life thing is shoved at them they never will until it's too late. I don't feel sad when I go to them; maybe a bit scared and realizing that it happens, that it's cold and terrible but there's nothing left for you if you drink and drive...nothing left, because you either die, lose someone, or get sent to jail. Hopefully if one person understands, that will change things a bit and maybe someday, it won't have to involve deaths for people to understand--namely the people at the assembly today who just messed around.I hope I'll always remember the people killed by drunk driving, and the families and friends of the people killed, and never take my life so for granted that it couldn't happen to me. It was a real honor to be able to work part of this program as it affected me, my family, and most of all, my peers. There is much for me to say, however, what I feel I cannot put into words. So to sum it up I have this: My life has changed forever, and for the good. My deepest thanks, Every 15 Minutes. :) Desiree A. May 11, 2007

hi, i wanted to thank the staff that put this show together, i never though that someone died every 15 minutes. i have friends that died in car accidents because the other driver was under the influence of alcohol, and to see what really happens and the things you go through is sad. michelle May 10, 2007

My aughter witnessed it as a Freshman in 2006 at Foothill High in Pleasanton and it had a profound impact on her. She will get to participate again as a Junior in 2007/08. The every 15 minutes program came to my school a couple of months ago. Seeing everything happen and i got the feeling like we had really lost some of our class mates. It didnt it me till them that so many people have been killed by a drunk drive. THe every 15 minutes program has really impacted my life. I will never drink and drive. I will never take anyones life or take someones loved one away from them. Aztec, NM Kelly Lawrence May 8, 2007

your site is amazing, and even though everyone in our school knew that the accident was going to happen the funeral the next day was what really got to people. it touched me personally because my father died not that long ago and it brings back a lot of memories, but i think my school did a good thing in performing the whole thing before prom to warn kids about the after parties. thanks for the idea! and hopefully ellsworth will be doing it for years to come! I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who work so hard to put this program together. We did it at our school a week ago and I honestly don't think there is a better way to get this message across to people. Even watching the video a couple of years ago, as powerful as it was, I could never have even begun to imagine that it would have the affect it has had on so many people, myself included. Thank you for giving me the chance to be a part of something so important and so life changing. RWC, CA R.S. May 7, 2007

Wow! What a program! Ryan was the boy who "died at the scene" and I am his Mom. I was so afraid to let Ryan take part, but I am so ENTIRELY glad we participated in this impactful program and I think that ALL high schools should do it. The parents retreat, the candlelight vigil, and especially the memorial service/assembly yesterday, it was so well done, and I love all you kids at Rosemont. Thank you for listening, and please don't drink and drive.

Today out local police and community put on Every 15 Minutes. It was very scary to see some of my friends end up dying and having their picture and obituary posted on their school locker. This program is awesome and should bring about awareness to all teenagers as we all can be affected by this. Houlton, ME Justin Connors May 2, 2007

My school, Rosemont High School in Sac, CA just did Every 15 minutes. Today is the second day. But yestersday was a very hard day for many people. Not only did my fellow classmates die, but also two of my teachers died. I spoke at the candle light visual and was very distraught. I think this program really knocks the sense into people. thanks Sacramento, CA Casaundra Endres May 2, 2007

This is an awesome program. In our community we have one of the best volunteer fire departments and ambulance services in the state. We are lucky enough, in high school, to become a rookie EMT. We get to run one 12 hr. shift a week and respond from school. Yesterday, May 1st, we had our accident for Every 15 Minutes. I am the rookie on the Tuesday crew, and it was awesome. Some of my close friends were in the accident, and it was really hard. I know that I was them being made up and it was all make believe, but it was all too real for me. It hit many people hard when they saw the hurse drive up and the helicopter fly someone out. It is something that every high school needs to do, and I appriciate you for putting this program together.Brent Pendleton, IN Brent Schnepp May 2, 2007

my high school,(west ranch high school) participated in the EVERY 15 MINUTES PROGRAM recently. my friend was the drunk driver and my other friend was pronounced"dead" at the scene. when he came back to school he showed me his death certificate. I have deffinately noticed a big change in my friend's personality. my friend who was the drunk driver went to court and the jury was the people she killed. people don't understand that even though it is fake, it feels real. when you see someone, especially someone you know dead, it feels so real. my uncle and my friend ied in a very tragic, very bloody drunk drunk driving accident all because some idiot made a stupid and fatal decision. the drivers that caused the crash took two peoples lives, they don't get to go home or say goodbye to their families. when i went into class and was notified that my friend "died" and my other friend "killed" him, it was extremely hard. don't cause any family such pain by making one decision that can ruin your life and end another's. olivia zimmerman Apr 29, 2007

So when i first heard that we were doing the Every 15 Minutes thing, I did not know what to expect. It really hit home when they pulled one of my friends out of band. Thinking about him dieing was not cool. This idea really brings it into view of what it could feel like if your friend did die in a crash. I promise you from this day forward i am changed because of this. Thank you for this demonstaration. It means a lot. Please all of you out there NEVER drink and drive. Today was the first day of our Every 15 Minutes program. It was so personally emotional for me because my friends, who are wonderful, amazing human beings, were taken as two of the "living dead." The fact that this could happen to such innocent people is so angering. People MUST take responsibility for their actions! The fact that schools all around the NATION can continue to do this program all year round...using cars from REAL alcohol-related accidents, is horrible. There's actually enough cars to continue to do this. That's just how many accidents there really are.
Ah. This program is so effective. I dread going to the assembly tomorrow, to the "funeral."
Thank you to whoever started this program. My heart goes out to the families whose lives this has affected in real life. Sydnee Apr 26, 2007

I rmember when the every15 minutes was played at my school in 2004 and te impact that had on all the students to see that one of their classmate was involved in that accident, but is good to know that there is people willing to do anything for the students not to suffer this type of incidents.

My school participated in the every 15 minutes program last week. This program influenced me very much on making choices when I become older with drinking. I was greatly affected by the program and it was by far one of the best assemblies I have ever seen! It all seemed so real. I couldn't help but cry on the second day of the program. Not only did it change the way I will make choices, but it also created a stronger relationship and bond with my family and friends. Lindsay Apr 25, 2007

The end of school today concluded our Every 15 minutes program. When i was first told about participating in the program, I honestly thought..sure, sounds like a great way to get out of class! But i was wrong...It was so much more than that. I learned so much, and It was an extremely emotional experience. I was a living dead person. It was very hard to not talk to my friends, or my family for the whole day. Staying away from home was also hard. The retreat and hearing the speeches from victims and from people who have lost love ones made me see how much i really do have to be thankful for, and how much i have worth taking care of. This program touched me and If anyone has the opportunity to do it I would highly recommend it! NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL, EASTON, PA Justine Adams Apr 25, 2007

Our school does the program every two years around the time of prom to get the point across to the juniors and seniors. I'm a freshman this year and was not allowed to go to the accident because it was too grusum for us, and because its so real. All day we have seen and hurd about the events, and i think it is really cool how they do this... it opens eyes to people who dont' know Cassie Kussow Apr 25, 2007

My son just participated in the every 15 min program as the victim killed at the crash scene and this has been the most amazing and brilliant idea I have ever seen to get the point across to teens about making choices and doing the right thing. I went to the crash sight despite being advised otherwise. My baby (16) was the last one to be taken from the scene of the accitdent zipped in a bleck body bag into the coraners truck...... And as I watched and the air was complete silence the chaplan leaned over and asked me "What are you feeling right now?" I looked up at him and tears streaming down my face "Thankful"... My son Blaine gets to come back home tommorrow and my heart goes out to those who have such a real life tragedy! God Bless the person who ever thought of this program it was absolutely brilliant!!!! The kids really felt it and I believe it was worth every tear I've shed these last two days, I KNOW IT WILL SAVE THE LIFE OF MANY BY PARTICIPATING!!! BLaine Johnson I am so proud of you... You used your popularity and status as a leader at school to make a very important point to all those who look up to you. Love Mom . Sundy Johnson Apr 25, 2007

Sublette County EMS presented the E15Min program at our High School on April 19th and 20th. It was a very overwhelming two days. As a medic, and a parent, I participated in planning and presenting. The emotions are very strong and the visual impact is very moving. Every day is important. Every minute is important. Choices matter, make good ones. Body bags are scary, don't be in one. Friends and family care, always. Get a safe ride home. K Bacheller Apr 24, 2007

I remember my school doing this my freshman year. It was so shocking as to how real it felt. I was hoping that it would never really happen to anyone, but sadly, we have lost at least six people (at different times)from care accidents. I don't know how many of them were drunk-driving related, but I do know that one of the people killed was actualy part of the living dead. I think that this is a great program, and I think that it has more impact on people when it is done every three or four years, not every year. My high school was doing it every four years, but now they are changing it to every three. I didn't see it this year, but I hope to see it next time around. I just hope that my younger sister is not a part of it. I don't know what I would do. I mean, I know it's not real, but to have to come home from college because your sister "died" isn't going to be easy.... Katie Brown Apr 24, 2007

During April 19-20, Thursday and Friday, our EMS service put on an Every 15 Minutes program. My older brother was one of the kids who died. When I saw him with his face painted white, walking back to class with a grim reaper, it hit me really hard that this really does happen, only the kids don't go back to cladd, or even back home. They never get to go home again.
Thrusday night, when every one had eaten and where mostly calm, the EMT's read a little story about you driving home, and gettign hit by another car. You see every one around you crying over you. You want to tell them all that your okay, but you cna't talk or dit up, and you find out you died in the wreck. After they read that, we wrote the letters to our parents. That was the hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. When all the letters where written, every one gave and got hugs from every one. I even got one from my brother. That showed me hoe moved he was.
I was able to be part of the program as a BEC, basic emergency care giver. During the mock wreck, me and two other BEC started the care, and did triage. My brother volenteered to die in the wreck, and a close friend offered to be ejected and die. It was very hard, but as long as all that saved at least one life, it was worth it. Thank you for the program. Kori Hunt Apr 23, 2007

This program was incredible. I haven't been so emotionally touched in years, to see your friends die in a tragic accident right before your eyes and watch the drunk driver stand up and walk away was too much to bear.
Believe me, if you think you're gonna get through this without shedding some serious tears, think again. Amazing program, I'll never forget it. Josh Cumbee Apr 20, 2007

Earlier today, our high school took part in the first day of the "Every 15 Minutes" presentation. I originally thought that this wouldn't be brought to our school so it was a surprise. Although a lot of kids didn't take this seriously, the message came clear to alot of us. I hope this stops more people from drinking and driving. Eireen Escalona Apr 20, 2007

I just completed the program as one of the Living Dead. And I have to say, it was the most heart wrenching experience I've been through. Going through the day without speaking to anyone is immensely difficult, and exhausting. At the retreat, I emotionally torn. I've never seen so many of my peers cry in one room. It really was a bonding experience for us all. We'd arrived not knowing each other, but at the end we all knew each other by name, and were there to comfort each other.I read my letter at the assembly. At the time I was emotionally numb, so I didn't even cry up on stage. But many others did - my letter made nearly half the class break down into tears. This really is a great program. It's changed my life forever, and inspired me and others to make wise decisions. I have no regrets about it all. The entire thing was worth it. Boulder, CO Chris Wu Apr 19, 2007

My daughter Christa participated in this program at Whitney High School on April 17th and 18th. It was a very intense experience for everyone involved. I was amazed at the impact it had on all the students in the school! It was awesome. I lost a friend at age 10 to an alcohol related accident. I was very proud of my daughter for getting involved! I can't stress how grateful I am that this program exists. I wish they had this when I was in High School! Virginia Mullen Apr 19, 2007

I was part of the program, when the police and the grim reaper came to my class and said i was dead it was a real eye opener, my class mates didnt know what was going on. when the officer said i was now dead i could see the confused looks on some of the peoples faces. this is an awsome program keep it up!!! Well high I am a student at Dephi High School. A week ago our school was involved with every 15 mintues and it was the best way tho help make the understand how drinking and Driving will either just ruin you're own life or another persons life. From my own personal exsperience of being involved and almost had my life taken from me by a drunk Driver, it touched me so much. I konwn that it impacted the students that were involved like it was a real thing. It really hit the teens that drive to make them think twice. If you every need someone to speak I would love to give my story about how my life was almost taken form me and the people I loved. I am so Glad that God has keep me alive to this day... Keep on impacting the schools that you attend and get the chance to change the minds of kids that choose to do stupid things

Hi,
My name is Amanda and I was a participent in the every 15 minutes program at my school, el camino high school. i used to think that nothing bad could ever happen to me untill i was chose to be a "walking dead" sometimes student dont realize how much aomething so stupid can affect theirs and their friends.families lives. and i am so happin to be part of this program, that had to save at least one life at my school. this was only the third time they have done this in our city and the 2nd thime at my school. within the past 3 times, this wa the first we have ever got a response, there was not one dry eye, literally, and everyone found their friends in the program whether they knew them well or not. i have people that i didnt even know their names, come up to me and say that they will never drink and drive, and will never get into a car that some one that has drunk. i want to thank the peole that started this program. it's helped our two high school, and our community see the truth of what could happen to the most innocent people. Well this is a student from Delphi Community High School. Even know I was not one of the students that died and got to rexperience the night that I was almost killed by a drunk driver. That had brought back all of those emotions that I have had to deal with for know 5years of life. This has opened my eyes even more to think about decisions I will have and perviously made. PleaseI hope you all can do a great deal and impact the schools that you attend and take them through this program because if you don't they couldn't fell the things that we all went through for two days at Delphi. My school just finished the Every 15 Minutes program. This program is extremely intense, but very good for the student body. Many of my good friends were "dead" in the process. The mock traffic accident was amazing to see. I know I cried during the accident and the funeral, and so did many others of our student body. One person I never thought would shed a tear, was an emotional reck. If you drink at a party and drive home, there is a high risk you could get into an accident. You are not the only one invovled in your mistake, you could injure or kill another human being. The program is an amazing experience I think that every high school student who thinks that drinking and driving aren't bad should go through. Morgan Smith Apr 17, 2007

Just last Thurday and Friday my schoool, Wheatland Union High, did the every 15 minutes and i was really sad. It looked so real and I was touched.
My friends and i decided that we are going to live above the influence and not drink at all.

Every 15 minutes came to my high school (La Costa Canyon) in 2000, at the time I was a freshman and didnt realize how serious drunk driving was, I had heard lectures through other programs but none affected me the way this one did. During the two days I watched as one of my good friends died and how her parents grieved at the funeral, the thought of losing such a wonderful person in my life truly made me think about my actions and the actions of others. Throughout the service almost everyone was crying, including myself, and that was proof that the message was received and understood. Teenagers today think they know everything, and lectures are not going to reach them the way we need. Thats why I believe in every 15 minutes because it goes after their hearts, its not something to forget about. The whole experience truly stays with you, at least I know it has for me. So thank you for creating such a great program that has saved and will continue to save lives. Leah Apr 16, 2007

Hi...we just completed our third program of "Every 15 Minutes" at Hobbs High School in Hobbs, NM. Again, the program was very successful and hopefully opened a few eyes as Prom and Graduation are very near. Our program is put on my Lea County Teen Court and the community of Hobbs. This program usually takes us about 6 months to prepare for. About two months before the scheduled program, we have our local high school principal and assitants choose around 50 students. We then contact the parents of those students and inform them of the program and that their son/daughter has been chosen to participate. If we receive a release-permission form for the student to participate we begin the long process of choosing our four accident victims. None of the students are aware they have been chosen...only the parents and school know. This has been more effective when the students have no clue when this is going to happen. We let it be a surprise. We pull the four students that will be accident victims, the day before the "Mock Crash" to let them know what they have been chosen to participate in. They learn about the program and that their parents have known for a couple of months of their participation. The day of the "Mock Crash" the four students are made up as accident victims and positioned in the wrecked vehicles. One student is even airlifted by helicopter to our hospital. The "drunk driver" is arrested, booked and arraigned as though it has really happened. Then the student body is notified that a drill (fire, bomb, etc.) is being done and they are directed to the crash site to see their friends and class mates in the accident. Some at the time believe it, cry, as others make a joke out of it. Then, as the day progresses, the other "livin dead" teenagers are taken out every 30 minutes (this year we were told that the every 15 minutes had been increases to every 30 minutes) someone dies in an alcohol related crash. Those students are taken to a holding area, not to return to the school until the next day for the assembly. During their time in the holding area, they are shown films regarding alcohol and drugs. They also get to use the goggles and golf cart that are set up to mimic being under the influence. Duing this time, they are chaperoned by our JPO, Dept. of Health, Police and Fire Depts. That afternoon, a "mock funeral" is performed. This year, one of our students agreed to being placed in a casket and we had her memorial service at a local funeral home. Her family and friends attended the memorial service. Then, they continued to the cemetery, along with the other two dead students for a funeral service. The "dead students" were on one side of the closed casket with the parents on the other side. The parents did not know their kids were there until after the funeral. Later, the students went on a tour of a funeral home. They were instructed on everything that takes place once a body is picked up and delivered to the funeral home. Each student received a "toe tag", an arm band that said their name and date of death. That evening the students did not return home. All sixteen students stayed in a local motel for a retreat and more intense alcohol awareness. There were speakers and then what really made everything start sinking in, the students were asked to write a farewell letter to their parents, apologizing for getting into a vehicle with and alcoholic driver or just being the victim. This always take alot out of the students and there is never a dry eye in the house. The next day, at the asembly, the 3 dead students from the crash, consented to being placed in caskets prior to the student body coming in. The dead students and their parents had to read letters as well as the drunk driver and her parents, apologizing for shattering all their lives. This is a wake-up call for students. We will never be able to prevent them from drinking, but hopefully, this has given them a new insight so that they can make better choices. If we ca save one life thru this program, then all the hard work and dedication everyone has put into this program, then we did our job. Terry Lopez Apr 15, 2007

I was involved in this program a little over a year ago. I have never been drunk, and the few sips of alcoholic beverages that I have had were during times I was with my family. A lot of my close friends were involved in the program with me, and it's had an incredible impact on my life. I was looking at this website tonight because one of my roommates went to a party last night and then drove herself, and my other roommate home. I am so upset with her. But because she hasn't ever experienced something like this, she doesn't understand the pain she could have caused for anyone she may have injured. When people talk about drinking, I tend to feel really upset because I know how horribly it can affect people. I don't know how to express to her how much I wished she would have called me at 4 in the morning to go get her. I would rather wake up, or just not sleep at all, and be a designated driver, than have someone killed in an alcohol related accident. Not a day goes by that I don't think about this program. It's been over a year now, but it still haunts me every single day. I never want to experience anything like the pain that I felt on that day. Even though everything was simulated, my friends are still alive and well, and I haven't ever actually lost anyone to an alcohol-related accident, it was real enough that I'll never do anything to put myself in a similar situation. I am a Sophmore at Yreka High School and today was the second and last day of the Every 15 Minutes program. It was a great program to have happened to out school. Although pretty much the whole school knew about it, it was still very interesting and devestating. The car crash was so real and the funeral was so depressing. I am glad it was all a "mock", but I couldn't help but cry and think about all the kids who have died because of carelessness and the kids in my high school that could have REALLY died in an alcohol related accident. I hope this program comes to my school again before I graduate, it was a very important and great experience. Cora Deegan Apr 13, 2007

I am a Junior at aztec High School. And the Every fifteen minute program to my school. The program really helped me realize what can happen in a real drunk driving accident. I have never lost anyone to a drunk driver. I feel that if a drunk driver survives the crash they should get a punishment that they diserve. Kelly Apr 12, 2007

My name is Brandon Keith. I am a freshmen at West Campus High School. First off, i would like to thank my principal(s) for funding the money to provide this program for us. As a prospective driver, I have a completly different outlook on driving now. I hope that this program changed other peoples view as well. We are continuing it tommorow, so I hope I enjoy the rest. Today April 10 2007 my school, Hewitt Trussville High School did a skit about this and it really makes you wake up and think twice about doing stupid stuff.. B/c you realize how much you really loose. Hayden Cook Apr 10, 2007

I participated as an Emergency Physician last week in the program in Turlock and was very impressed with what I saw. There is a real community building that occurs as a result of the interaction between high school students, parents, teachers, and local EMS and hospital personnel. The activities have a profound impact on the participants, and will most certainly save lives down the road. Peter Benson MD Apr 8, 2007

I think this is a wonderful program to do at the schools. I was in a drunk driving crash when I was 18. I was on my way home from work when a drunk driver hit me. It sure messed up my life so I think the kids should see what can happen if they go down this road. Sarah Forrester Apr 6, 2007

My school did this program a few days ago, and it had such a major impact on me. I was part of the "living dead". Ive always been one to make wise choices but this has helped me back my decisions up even more

I'm a 16 year old male from McKinleyville High School. We have completed both days of the "Every 15 Minutes" program. This has brought me to deep emotions. From watching the car wreck, and seeing my friends, to being at the funeral. Hearing real life stories by guest speakers. This is by far one of the best programs created. Every school should have this program in place, as it really does affect us. I know that I will never put myself, or my friends in a bad situation due to alcohol. Thank you for this, it was truly life inspiring. Johnathan Gregorio Apr 6, 2007

My high school just finished today with this program for the second year in a row. I unfortunately was not a part of it even though I wanted to be. But even though I wasn't, the effect it had on me was just the same-heart wrenching, frightening, emotional, etc. The first day was very unnerving, somewhat uncomfortable at times, but I saw our wreck scene and it blew me away! This program does everything it can to simulate it and it worked. The cars, the blood, the works. The next day at the service was what really got to me. The video that was made, made me me cry quite hard. But what really got me balling my eyes out was the letters from the "dead" students and their parents. They cryed as if it were real! It almost was, even to me. The "drunk driver's" speech got me to cry also, not only because I know him personally, but he was genuinlly emotional and really crying himself. I was balling almost the entire time. I will admit that last year as a junior, a senior was pulled from my class(it was a mixed class) and people started to cry. I thought it was ridiculous because they saw him leave. He wasn't really dead so what is the problem? After I saw it all this year, I take that all back. It got very emotional. I believe this is the closest you can get to a real drunk driving death without out having real fatalities. Just what they have the students involved and their parents go through is exactly what would happen if it were real. The hospital, police station, everything. It seemed like a living hell for them. We also put flowers up for the service as well as tombstones in a small patch of grass we have along with the regulur program. The one thing we do differently is when we pull students from the classes, they don't come back. They do get their face painted but then they follow the grim reaper (out drama teacher) around behind him, for the rest of the day holding their tombstones for a little while until they put it out in the ground themselves. They coem to school teh next day either except for their own service. You don't see or talk to them until the next day when it's all over. The "dead" students are separate from family, friends, as well as school activities as if they were dead. It is much too real. Too many students just laugh it off or know that their friend isn't really dead so they don't care. Even one of my own teachers asked me "Well, isn't this somewhat hard to believe?" It's ignorance like that which causes this problem. I know that I personally will never drink and then drive, but that does not mean I can't be hurt or even killed by someone who does. They are out there. Death doesn't just effect the drunk driver's family but also the families of the innocent, emphasis on innocent, victims. They were killed for no reason, but were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Every 15 Minutes program is literally God's gift to drunk driving awareness! It 500% more effective than any speech from a drink driver saying to "learn from my mistakes" or even a victim who says "I am an example of what can happen to you". I do not by any means consider my self much of an emotional person, and I'm certainly not a cryer, but this got my waterworks practically flooding aorund me for the next few hours. If you are like me or think you are too tough or macho to cry, think again. Trust me, you will cry. If you don't, well then, either you have a heart if ice and stone(or none at all) or you are just plain ignorant. One person every fifteen minutes, twenty-four hours a day. That is right around 100 people a day! You do the math and see how fast this number adds and increases. Also realize how quickly you could become one of those statistics. Don't let it happen! It could happen to any of us. Know that! Jennifer Hiemstra Apr 6, 2007

wow, i just had aevery 15 minute assembly, it really impacted me to day me school (Piner High Schoo) just had the memorial of the students who died yesterday. some people didn't take it seriously, the just thought it was a joke. It wasn't. This really made me think of what can happen, i could be hear one day and gone the other. I am really glad Every 15 Minutes was created. And thank you for coming to Piner High School. My local highschool (San Benito High/Hollister High in Hollister,CA) just did the "Every 15 Mins" program yesterday and although i was not a participant this year, i got the oppertunity to experience it my junior year, in 2005. My little brother came home talking about it, he's a freshman and only juniors and seniors got to view it but he heard from his friends how it happened, how they felt and the impact it had on everyone who was there. He was just shocked at what they told him. My family lost my younger brother the end of 2004, who was also involved in a car accident, and of course drinking was the main factor. When i witnessed this, i was devastated. I was shocked and mentally not prepared. No one warned me, everything was still so fresh in my head. I remeber sobing for days after i viewed this, i sat in the counselors office, just crying, all my frinds just in shock. Becasue not only did the every 15 mins event shock them, but becasue they recalled my brothers accident and all the others that happened in our community. It was so hard and not only have i lost my brother, but so many friends and people that i knew in our community due to drinking and driving. This really made alot of my friends consider not drinking and driving, this impacted the school, the staff and the community a whole lot. im glad this program is spreading the word, becasue this is serious stuff. THANKS! Vanessa Hernandez Apr 4, 2007

I am the sister of one of the students who was picked to be in this program today. I can't even begin to explain how this has affected myself and my family. I feel so fortunate to have been a part of thisprogram and to see the impact it had on my brother and his friends. People just don't understand how "Every 15 minutes" can make you experience emotions you didn't expect to until they are a part of it themselves. I will never forget what I learned and I now have a new found appreciation for those close to me and will be sure to encourage them to avoid these senseless accidents. Thank You. Shen Apr 4, 2007

My Daughter will be participating in Every 15 Minutes in May 2007. She will become a victim of a drunk driver and will die. She asked me to participate with her and to write a letter to her as if she had died, this was extremly hard to do. I didn't know if I could be strong enough to do this. Every time I would think about it, I would start to cry, this program has become very emotional for me. I would never want to ever lose my Daughter to a drunk driver, the thought of my Daughter Angela killed would destroy me and my family's life. I know that my daughter is a kind loving person and if it means that maybe she could spare one person or touch others from drinking & driving then this is worth it. I'm very proud of her for participating in this program, It will take place right before Prom. I believe that our children participating in Every 15 Minutes will touch the student so they share with their family and friends the importance of this program and hope that nobody will have to feel the pain of losing a loved one or take the life of someone who is Loved by drinking and driving. Thank you Carpinteria High School for participating.

Today is April 04 2007, Gentry high school is putting this program today, at 1:00pm. I am involved in the Car Crash. I hope this will be a good experience for me. My friend just died a few months ago in a Drunk driving crash. He was unfortunatly the drunk, and he died on impact. I hope this will help me have closure. This program is great. I've heard of this program "every 15 minutes" ever since freshman year but I would have never thought that it would have made such a great impact on me. I've shed tears because of this program. This is such a wonderful project that turns student's head around. The whole school is buzzing around whispering about the assembly and about those close to them's death. It's heart breakning to see the videos. This program gave me and other students a glimpse of the future, of how in a flash you may die without being able to say I LOVE YOU to those close by. Thanks for everything!

Last week, i participated in my school's every 15 minutes program. Even though i was only one of the "living dead," the program had a huge impact on me. I would like to say that I was apart of every 15 mintues in the year 2005 at Freedom High School, Bethlehem, PA. I did appreciate how they made us think about our decisions in life and also that they impacted us more than ever. I cried my eyes out when i had to sing a song as a tribute to those who had passed on because of drunk driving. i believe that this program will influence other schools just as much as it did to mine. Thank you so much and I hope for you guys to influence my sisters who are still attending that school. Thank you. cristina Mar 31, 2007

I was actually in the program and it was the most powerful thing i've ever experienced. If you think your too macho to cry, your very wrong. I havent cried in over four years, but the emotions were so powerful and raw tonight that i couldnt help but let them out. First thing all my friends said to me was "hey bro im not drinkin anymore"
Life changing stuff right here. Tony Mar 28, 2007

I just wanted to thank you so much for doing this program. We have currently finished day 1 of the program, and just seeing my friends die from these accidents really put it into perspective for me. It's definatly changed my life forever in a way that is benifitial. So thank you again. I think this program does wonders for high school students! Kira Mar 28, 2007

I AM THE MOTHER OF ONE OF THE STUDENTS WHO WAS KILLED IN THE MOCK ACCIDENT. ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE IT HAD AN IMPACT ON THE MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS, THERE WERE STILL THOSE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE. My school is currently participating in the "Every 15 Minutes" program. We had no notice at all, which resulted in a terrible day for me personally. I have had to suffer through losing someone to a drunk driving accident. It is the worst feeling in the world, and I was forced to relive it every 15 minutes. All day. I only wish I was warned ahead of time so I could have been mentally prepared. And I wish my classmates would take this seriously. It is such and important issue, and many of them were laughing or ignoring the whole thing. Thank you for trying to bring understanding and awareness to such a painful topic. I hope I can help in the future. Thank you. Jessica Huey Mar 22, 2007

I am a sophomore at Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead, California, and i attended last years assembely for Every 15 Minutes. After watching the tape from the year before I was in tears. The reality of drinking and driving and its fatality rate is so huge and im just so glad to see what schools are doing to teach kids about it. I think that what so many schools do with Every 15 Minutes is absolutly incredible. I can only hope that it gets passed on to many other schools. -- all it takes is one drink. victoria loeffler Mar 21, 2007

My school just did this program two weeks ago, and it had such an impact on the students. The assembly the next day moved everyone to tears. I was on the film crew that prepared the video to be shown at the assembly the next day, so I participated behind the scenes. In a way, it was a much more intense experience, because I rode in the ambulance with one of the victims, and then when he died in the hospital, to watch the grief in his parent's faces was overwhelming. I never drank and drove before this program, and I don't plan on it now. But now when I hear friends talking about their weekend experiences with drunk driving, I am very adamant about convincing them not to do so again. To go through this two-day experience helps to instill just how much drinking and driving not only affects you, but everyone around you as well. I am so thankful for this program and the effective way in which it impacts students. Fair Oaks, CA Carissa Mar 21, 2007

Just wanted to say i am a huge fan of the every 15 minutes program. I have lost two close friends to drunk driving accidents as a result of that I have become a Designated Driver. All of my friends call me to take them home. I dont care what time or what i'm doing I drop everything and go. But again thanks for showing teens why not to drive drunk maybe it will change their lives. Tama Kimble Mar 15, 2007

My only child, Ashley Masek died last year due to an impaired driver in Carson City, NV. Young people tend to think that nothing can go wrong, but I speak from experiences that it can. I will be a guest speaker this year at Every 15 minutes. It is my wish that at least one person thinks about their decision and choose not to drive impaired. We all can learn from tragedy. My name is jennifer, i an a 29 yr old femal from athens al. My reason for looking into this program is i lost one of my best friends to a drunk driver Dec 31 2006. He left behind a wife, and 5 kids. I was also touched by a tragedy several years ago, when my young husband was drunk himself, had a wreck and killed two people, i was not with him at the time, but i have felt the pain eveyday since. My "now ex-husband" is alive and ok, he spent several years in jail, and missed all his daughters firsts!!!!! If there is any way i can keep this from ever happening again, i will. Education is the KEY jennifer Mar 10, 2007

I dropped off my sophomore son in school 3/8 and saw all the cop cars lined up at the entrance of the school. That afternoon, I came to pick up my son to bring him and a frind to a memorial for a former Sheldon high schoolmate who passed away the Sunday before dur to a motorcyle accident. I asked the office staff why all the police cars in the school and she explained to me the Every 15 minute program. I came the next day to witness the "memorial at the school gym".
I was very impressed by the whole program and saw the impact it had on both the juniors and seniors in the gym and the family who were there to witness. I know that the we as parents could only hope that what the kids witnessed, they would put into action....to make the right choice when they are put in "the situation". This program, has planted the seed in their hearts and minds...it's up to the kids to make the right choice. God Bless all who made this happen to get the message accross to these kids. Being a volunteer with the Nancy Run Fire Co in Bethlehem Twp, i got to participate in the rescue of the Victims. Seeing every day real accidents, i can safely say that the students who are watching the rescue are getting as close to a real rescue as they could. Still being in school, also makes it something because instead of just watching it, i am a participant which gives it a whole new feeling... Nolan Rampulla Mar 3, 2007

Today I am wearing a "Every 15 Minutes" shirt that was my younger brothers. Knowing it had some involvment with his high school (Pahrump Valley) years of informing students about 'Destructive Decisions' I felt good displaying the message the shirt sends out. While visiting my wife at the hospital a woman asked me, "What happens every 15 minutes?" I explained, and it seemed as though I had planted this seed of awareness just by deciding to wear this shirt. I plan on wearing it more often, in fact, I might not give it back to my brother now...Just think of the impact if these were distributed to high school and college students. Most college students will stop and listen for a free shirt. Keep up the good work. Tim Mar 3, 2007

Two years ago I was a junior at Southwest High school. Every 15 Minutes came in the spring because out of a class survey, ours was the one that appeared to have the biggest problem with drinking. We used my friend Luke's car in the crash scene because he had totaled it the year before driving drunk. We made fun of him saying that he'd be the first one to die in our class. Sarcasm. That's all it was. But a year later on January 20th, 2006, he was driving drunk and drove into the back of a city bus.
Basically, people can try to send a message all they want, but after seeing it fail, I've lost faith in our generation to make good decisions and protect ourselves.
We miss you, Luke. Desiree Mar 3, 2007

Hi. My name is Nikki and my school is getting ready to do the every 15 minutes lesson and I am part of the collison and I have to be on the helicopter and die at the hospital. I think that this is going to be a very good learning experience for my school and we can not wait to do it. I hope my school learns like others did. Nikki Beenken Mar 3, 2007

Hi, my name is Crystal Hagle I graduated last year from Analy High School in Sebastopol. When I was About 9 years ago my sister, Chrissy Hagle, and her best friend, Megan White, was killed by a drunk driver on July 29, 1998. My parents and I were involved in the every 15 minutes at her old High School, El Molino in Forestville. This program is so real... it's hard for to see what happened and to visualize that my sister went through that just hurts. Yeah some kids may think it's stupid or whatever, but it's real and hurtful. and nothing can change the future, only this program can show you the real deal, and try to prevent anyone else to go through as much pain as my family and I have. So thank you every 15 minutes for trying to reduce the drunk drivers out there, and to try and save more and more people each and every year.

5 years ago in my senior year of high school I too was involved in the planning and participated in the every 15 minutes program. In writing my medical school application essays I was reflecting on the most important community service experiences that I have ever had. Being involved in this program definitely tops the list. Not only was everyone that I knew impacted by the program, including my mother and father who had to write my obituary but it is truly and experience that I will never forget. Nikki Dec 14, 2006

Hello, my name is Christina, and I just graduated from Carondelet High School in Concord, CA and just wanted to say that the Every 15 Minutes program made a HUGE impact in my life, and ever since then, I've made the decision to do everything I can to prevent anyone from driving drunk. It's definitely a worthwhile lesson and I think this is an amazing program. Thank you. Christina Pontes Dec 7, 2006

hey, my brother is in high school, but i'm not quite there yet. He was one of the "every 15 minutes" victims and it changed his view of drunk teen driving. The fact that every 15 minutes a student leaves class is a great way to show what an impact drunk driving makes. you guys are doing a great thing for students =]...thanks and keep it up sallly Dec 5, 2006

I'm a senior this year and last year is when the Every 15 Minutes program was at our school. I was one of the "walking dead" and it was an extremely intense experience. I really do think this helped a good handful of young adults realize what could happen. Thank you for letting me be part of that. Ashley Wehrli Dec 1, 2006

Hey all, I was involved in the Every 15 Minutes program at my high school in March (Etiwanda High School). I just wanted to say thanks for everything you do. From the volunteers who make this program their lives and to the law inforcement personel who worked a double shift so we could hear what they had to say. From the parents who participated to the firefighters who freed me from the car using the jars of life in the program, I offer my sincere thanks. I am now at Cal State San Bernardino and making a difference when I can because every minute I'm here since that day I am forced to realize that things could have been different. If this was not just a program but real life, well, you know where I'm going. I'd be dead, for one. I am writing a research paper, of my choice, and I chose the effects of alcoholism because of the touching experience I had. In fact I was reserching and found this site. It opened many emotions. Last week, I did a speech in Oral Communications on Drinking and Driving. Its hard to get across to college students about the effects of drinking and driving, but if it stops one person . . . You know, it seems the only people who are signing are ones involved with the program. But that's ok. We show the message by how we live our lives. We show it by the way we act and refrain from enterring a car with someone who has had a few too many. We show it by stopping that person from having a few too many before he or she begins. Its just a shame that people will only learn from deaths and not from lives. Alcohol and gasoline makes a very flamable situation. This is probably the longest message, but I think it works for the people who read this. EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES changed my life and many of my friends' lives. Now it's up to all of us reading to change everyone else's lives.D Daniel T. Henning Nov 20, 2006

I was a participant in the Every 15 minutes program at Speedway High School in 1999. This program really hit home for me. It impacted my life greatly. To this day I will not drink a drop of alcohol and drive, or get in a car with someone who has been drinking. Thanks to this program I am a different person. Regina Smith Oct 19, 2006

hello, I am 18 yeas old and just graduated from Windsor high School to go to college. I was so impacted when you guys did the similation at my school a year ago. I think that it really served it's purpose of teaching us to be more carefull when driving out there and to not do stupid thing that will get us into trouble. I personally felt really moved by the simulation and made me take the determination to never ride with a drunk driver, and to not ever diver under the influence, although i don't drink. I thank you for the service you provide, and as volunteer my self I share the same worries you guys have towards my peers. Francisco Araujo Jul 14, 2006

Hey...I am a junior this year and I take an online class on the side. The class talked about drinking and driving and it's affects, and showed a picture with the website below it. I somehow found your page from there, and it was pretty moving. Good job and keep doing what your doing. Thanks for making every15minutes.com - Greenfield, CA Jessica Jul 13, 2006

My name is Matthew Reece, we had the Every 15 Minutes program at my school during my junior year, and i must say that it has made a huge impact in my life...not only the mock car crash, but the parents testimony of when her daugter was actually killed a couple years back by a drunk driver...it is a growing epidemic that is happening all over the united states, and it seems that the Every 15 Minutes Program is a type of vaccine...the program is definetly helping save lives...
