today was our first day of the every 15 minutes program and it definatley impacted me. My brother was one of the victoms of the car crash and he was proclaimed dead on the scene. Although I didn't think i would cry, I did. It was very effective and I cannot wait for the rest of the program. Notre Dame High School, Easton, PA Mary Apr 24, 2007
| Sublette County EMS presented the E15Min program at our High School on April 19th and 20th. It was a very overwhelming two days. As a medic, and a parent, I participated in planning and presenting. The emotions are very strong and the visual impact is very moving. Every day is important. Every minute is important. Choices matter, make good ones. Body bags are scary, don't be in one. Friends and family care, always. Get a safe ride home. K Bacheller Apr 24, 2007
| I remember my school doing this my freshman year. It was so shocking as to how real it felt. I was hoping that it would never really happen to anyone, but sadly, we have lost at least six people (at different times)from care accidents. I don't know how many of them were drunk-driving related, but I do know that one of the people killed was actualy part of the living dead. I think that this is a great program, and I think that it has more impact on people when it is done every three or four years, not every year. My high school was doing it every four years, but now they are changing it to every three. I didn't see it this year, but I hope to see it next time around. I just hope that my younger sister is not a part of it. I don't know what I would do. I mean, I know it's not real, but to have to come home from college because your sister "died" isn't going to be easy.... Katie Brown Apr 24, 2007
| During April 19-20, Thursday and Friday, our EMS service put on an Every 15 Minutes program. My older brother was one of the kids who died. When I saw him with his face painted white, walking back to class with a grim reaper, it hit me really hard that this really does happen, only the kids don't go back to cladd, or even back home. They never get to go home again.
Thrusday night, when every one had eaten and where mostly calm, the EMT's read a little story about you driving home, and gettign hit by another car. You see every one around you crying over you. You want to tell them all that your okay, but you cna't talk or dit up, and you find out you died in the wreck. After they read that, we wrote the letters to our parents. That was the hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. When all the letters where written, every one gave and got hugs from every one. I even got one from my brother. That showed me hoe moved he was.
I was able to be part of the program as a BEC, basic emergency care giver. During the mock wreck, me and two other BEC started the care, and did triage. My brother volenteered to die in the wreck, and a close friend offered to be ejected and die. It was very hard, but as long as all that saved at least one life, it was worth it. Thank you for the program. Kori Hunt Apr 23, 2007
| I never knew that EVERY 15 minutes somebody dies, that is awful. I hope the world can come together once and for all and help stop younger kids, teens, and adult drinking and driving! Sellersburg, Indiana Tiffany Apr 22, 2007
| My school did the every 15 minute thing wed it was pretty freaky like the person the chose was a friend of EVERYONE and it was a big eye openerTHANK YOU CHEIF MARSH of the Hudson Police thingy......Gilbertville/Hudson, IA Jessica Arnold Apr 20, 2007
| My school also participated in this activity yesterday afternoon. It started, actually, yesterday morning with a guy dressed in a grim reaper costume coming in our classrooms and picking out certain people. He yelled ..Benton, AR. J.t. Apr 20, 2007

| This program was incredible. I haven't been so emotionally touched in years, to see your friends die in a tragic accident right before your eyes and watch the drunk driver stand up and walk away was too much to bear.
Believe me, if you think you're gonna get through this without shedding some serious tears, think again. Amazing program, I'll never forget it. Josh Cumbee Apr 20, 2007
| Earlier today, our high school took part in the first day of the "Every 15 Minutes" presentation. I originally thought that this wouldn't be brought to our school so it was a surprise. Although a lot of kids didn't take this seriously, the message came clear to alot of us. I hope this stops more people from drinking and driving. Eireen Escalona Apr 20, 2007
| I just completed the program as one of the Living Dead. And I have to say, it was the most heart wrenching experience I've been through. Going through the day without speaking to anyone is immensely difficult, and exhausting. At the retreat, I emotionally torn. I've never seen so many of my peers cry in one room. It really was a bonding experience for us all. We'd arrived not knowing each other, but at the end we all knew each other by name, and were there to comfort each other.I read my letter at the assembly. At the time I was emotionally numb, so I didn't even cry up on stage. But many others did - my letter made nearly half the class break down into tears. This really is a great program. It's changed my life forever, and inspired me and others to make wise decisions. I have no regrets about it all. The entire thing was worth it. Boulder, CO Chris Wu Apr 19, 2007
| My daughter Christa participated in this program at Whitney High School on April 17th and 18th. It was a very intense experience for everyone involved. I was amazed at the impact it had on all the students in the school! It was awesome. I lost a friend at age 10 to an alcohol related accident. I was very proud of my daughter for getting involved! I can't stress how grateful I am that this program exists. I wish they had this when I was in High School! Virginia Mullen Apr 19, 2007
| I was part of the program, when the police and the grim reaper came to my class and said i was dead it was a real eye opener, my class mates didnt know what was going on. when the officer said i was now dead i could see the confused looks on some of the peoples faces. this is an awsome program keep it up!!! | i just heard about the every 15 min thing and it seems really important!! right now im in english class and im doing a report about drunk driving. there are so many people killed these days because of drunk driving its unbelievable!! i feel sorry for all the famalies that have lost someone to a drunk driving accident.to all those people who have lost someone to drunk driving, Im very sorry! i think the every 15 min website is a very good website. Heather Apr 19, 2007
| Im a Jr. at Fairview High School in Boulder,Colorado. Today we had this program back at our school for the seconed time since my freshmen year. I think it's a really good way to bring awarness espically around prom season. Rock Apr 18, 2007
| Well high I am a student at Dephi High School. A week ago our school was involved with every 15 mintues and it was the best way tho help make the understand how drinking and Driving will either just ruin you're own life or another persons life. From my own personal exsperience of being involved and almost had my life taken from me by a drunk Driver, it touched me so much. I konwn that it impacted the students that were involved like it was a real thing. It really hit the teens that drive to make them think twice. If you every need someone to speak I would love to give my story about how my life was almost taken form me and the people I loved. I am so Glad that God has keep me alive to this day... Keep on impacting the schools that you attend and get the chance to change the minds of kids that choose to do stupid things

| Hi,
My name is Amanda and I was a participent in the every 15 minutes program at my school, el camino high school. i used to think that nothing bad could ever happen to me untill i was chose to be a "walking dead" sometimes student dont realize how much aomething so stupid can affect theirs and their friends.families lives. and i am so happin to be part of this program, that had to save at least one life at my school. this was only the third time they have done this in our city and the 2nd thime at my school. within the past 3 times, this wa the first we have ever got a response, there was not one dry eye, literally, and everyone found their friends in the program whether they knew them well or not. i have people that i didnt even know their names, come up to me and say that they will never drink and drive, and will never get into a car that some one that has drunk. i want to thank the peole that started this program. it's helped our two high school, and our community see the truth of what could happen to the most innocent people. Amanda Bortoli Apr 17, 2007
| Well this is a student from Delphi Community High School. Even know I was not one of the students that died and got to rexperience the night that I was almost killed by a drunk driver. That had brought back all of those emotions that I have had to deal with for know 5years of life. This has opened my eyes even more to think about decisions I will have and perviously made. PleaseI hope you all can do a great deal and impact the schools that you attend and take them through this program because if you don't they couldn't fell the things that we all went through for two days at Delphi. Delphi, IN Laura Cunningham Apr 17, 2007
| My school just finished the Every 15 Minutes program. This program is extremely intense, but very good for the student body. Many of my good friends were "dead" in the process. The mock traffic accident was amazing to see. I know I cried during the accident and the funeral, and so did many others of our student body. One person I never thought would shed a tear, was an emotional reck. If you drink at a party and drive home, there is a high risk you could get into an accident. You are not the only one invovled in your mistake, you could injure or kill another human being. The program is an amazing experience I think that every high school student who thinks that drinking and driving aren't bad should go through. Morgan Smith Apr 17, 2007
| Just last Thurday and Friday my schoool, Wheatland Union High, did the every 15 minutes and i was really sad. It looked so real and I was touched.
My friends and i decided that we are going to live above the influence and not drink at all.

| Every 15 minutes came to my high school (La Costa Canyon) in 2000, at the time I was a freshman and didnt realize how serious drunk driving was, I had heard lectures through other programs but none affected me the way this one did. During the two days I watched as one of my good friends died and how her parents grieved at the funeral, the thought of losing such a wonderful person in my life truly made me think about my actions and the actions of others. Throughout the service almost everyone was crying, including myself, and that was proof that the message was received and understood. Teenagers today think they know everything, and lectures are not going to reach them the way we need. Thats why I believe in every 15 minutes because it goes after their hearts, its not something to forget about. The whole experience truly stays with you, at least I know it has for me. So thank you for creating such a great program that has saved and will continue to save lives. Leah Apr 16, 2007
| Hi...we just completed our third program of "Every 15 Minutes" at Hobbs High School in Hobbs, NM. Again, the program was very successful and hopefully opened a few eyes as Prom and Graduation are very near. Our program is put on my Lea County Teen Court and the community of Hobbs. This program usually takes us about 6 months to prepare for. About two months before the scheduled program, we have our local high school principal and assitants choose around 50 students. We then contact the parents of those students and inform them of the program and that their son/daughter has been chosen to participate. If we receive a release-permission form for the student to participate we begin the long process of choosing our four accident victims. None of the students are aware they have been chosen...only the parents and school know. This has been more effective when the students have no clue when this is going to happen. We let it be a surprise. We pull the four students that will be accident victims, the day before the "Mock Crash" to let them know what they have been chosen to participate in. They learn about the program and that their parents have known for a couple of months of their participation. The day of the "Mock Crash" the four students are made up as accident victims and positioned in the wrecked vehicles. One student is even airlifted by helicopter to our hospital. The "drunk driver" is arrested, booked and arraigned as though it has really happened. Then the student body is notified that a drill (fire, bomb, etc.) is being done and they are directed to the crash site to see their friends and class mates in the accident. Some at the time believe it, cry, as others make a joke out of it. Then, as the day progresses, the other "livin dead" teenagers are taken out every 30 minutes (this year we were told that the every 15 minutes had been increases to every 30 minutes) someone dies in an alcohol related crash. Those students are taken to a holding area, not to return to the school until the next day for the assembly. During their time in the holding area, they are shown films regarding alcohol and drugs. They also get to use the goggles and golf cart that are set up to mimic being under the influence. Duing this time, they are chaperoned by our JPO, Dept. of Health, Police and Fire Depts. That afternoon, a "mock funeral" is performed. This year, one of our students agreed to being placed in a casket and we had her memorial service at a local funeral home. Her family and friends attended the memorial service. Then, they continued to the cemetery, along with the other two dead students for a funeral service. The "dead students" were on one side of the closed casket with the parents on the other side. The parents did not know their kids were there until after the funeral. Later, the students went on a tour of a funeral home. They were instructed on everything that takes place once a body is picked up and delivered to the funeral home. Each student received a "toe tag", an arm band that said their name and date of death. That evening the students did not return home. All sixteen students stayed in a local motel for a retreat and more intense alcohol awareness. There were speakers and then what really made everything start sinking in, the students were asked to write a farewell letter to their parents, apologizing for getting into a vehicle with and alcoholic driver or just being the victim. This always take alot out of the students and there is never a dry eye in the house. The next day, at the asembly, the 3 dead students from the crash, consented to being placed in caskets prior to the student body coming in. The dead students and their parents had to read letters as well as the drunk driver and her parents, apologizing for shattering all their lives. This is a wake-up call for students. We will never be able to prevent them from drinking, but hopefully, this has given them a new insight so that they can make better choices. If we ca save one life thru this program, then all the hard work and dedication everyone has put into this program, then we did our job. Terry Lopez Apr 15, 2007
| I was involved in this program a little over a year ago. I have never been drunk, and the few sips of alcoholic beverages that I have had were during times I was with my family. A lot of my close friends were involved in the program with me, and it's had an incredible impact on my life. I was looking at this website tonight because one of my roommates went to a party last night and then drove herself, and my other roommate home. I am so upset with her. But because she hasn't ever experienced something like this, she doesn't understand the pain she could have caused for anyone she may have injured. When people talk about drinking, I tend to feel really upset because I know how horribly it can affect people. I don't know how to express to her how much I wished she would have called me at 4 in the morning to go get her. I would rather wake up, or just not sleep at all, and be a designated driver, than have someone killed in an alcohol related accident. Not a day goes by that I don't think about this program. It's been over a year now, but it still haunts me every single day. I never want to experience anything like the pain that I felt on that day. Even though everything was simulated, my friends are still alive and well, and I haven't ever actually lost anyone to an alcohol-related accident, it was real enough that I'll never do anything to put myself in a similar situation. Erin Royce Apr 14, 2007
| I am a Sophmore at Yreka High School and today was the second and last day of the Every 15 Minutes program. It was a great program to have happened to out school. Although pretty much the whole school knew about it, it was still very interesting and devestating. The car crash was so real and the funeral was so depressing. I am glad it was all a "mock", but I couldn't help but cry and think about all the kids who have died because of carelessness and the kids in my high school that could have REALLY died in an alcohol related accident. I hope this program comes to my school again before I graduate, it was a very important and great experience. Cora Deegan Apr 13, 2007
| I am a Junior at aztec High School. And the Every fifteen minute program to my school. The program really helped me realize what can happen in a real drunk driving accident. I have never lost anyone to a drunk driver. I feel that if a drunk driver survives the crash they should get a punishment that they diserve. Kelly Apr 12, 2007
| this program was awesoem i just participiated as one of the living dead in the every 15 inutes program this week and it was atruly emotional and a life changing experience that all should take serious and it was a pirelage to be invited to be a part of this thank you all very much John Mcknight Apr 12, 2007

| My name is Brandon Keith. I am a freshmen at West Campus High School. First off, i would like to thank my principal(s) for funding the money to provide this program for us. As a prospective driver, I have a completly different outlook on driving now. I hope that this program changed other peoples view as well. We are continuing it tommorow, so I hope I enjoy the rest. | Today April 10 2007 my school, Hewitt Trussville High School did a skit about this and it really makes you wake up and think twice about doing stupid stuff.. B/c you realize how much you really loose. Hayden Cook Apr 10, 2007
| I participated as an Emergency Physician last week in the program in Turlock and was very impressed with what I saw. There is a real community building that occurs as a result of the interaction between high school students, parents, teachers, and local EMS and hospital personnel. The activities have a profound impact on the participants, and will most certainly save lives down the road. Peter Benson MD Apr 8, 2007
| I think this is a wonderful program to do at the schools. I was in a drunk driving crash when I was 18. I was on my way home from work when a drunk driver hit me. It sure messed up my life so I think the kids should see what can happen if they go down this road. Sarah Forrester Apr 6, 2007
| My school did this program a few days ago, and it had such a major impact on me. I was part of the "living dead". Ive always been one to make wise choices but this has helped me back my decisions up even more
much love. Deidre Apr 6, 2007
| I'm a 16 year old male from McKinleyville High School. We have completed both days of the "Every 15 Minutes" program. This has brought me to deep emotions. From watching the car wreck, and seeing my friends, to being at the funeral. Hearing real life stories by guest speakers. This is by far one of the best programs created. Every school should have this program in place, as it really does affect us. I know that I will never put myself, or my friends in a bad situation due to alcohol. Thank you for this, it was truly life inspiring. Johnathan Gregorio Apr 6, 2007
| I have coordinated an E 15 M program every year since 1997. The positive impacts this program has on our youth is tremendous. Good luck with your programs. Investigator Al Brackett Apr 6, 2007
| My high school just finished today with this program for the second year in a row. I unfortunately was not a part of it even though I wanted to be. But even though I wasn't, the effect it had on me was just the same-heart wrenching, frightening, emotional, etc. The first day was very unnerving, somewhat uncomfortable at times, but I saw our wreck scene and it blew me away! This program does everything it can to simulate it and it worked. The cars, the blood, the works. The next day at the service was what really got to me. The video that was made, made me me cry quite hard. But what really got me balling my eyes out was the letters from the "dead" students and their parents. They cryed as if it were real! It almost was, even to me. The "drunk driver's" speech got me to cry also, not only because I know him personally, but he was genuinlly emotional and really crying himself. I was balling almost the entire time. I will admit that last year as a junior, a senior was pulled from my class(it was a mixed class) and people started to cry. I thought it was ridiculous because they saw him leave. He wasn't really dead so what is the problem? After I saw it all this year, I take that all back. It got very emotional. I believe this is the closest you can get to a real drunk driving death without out having real fatalities. Just what they have the students involved and their parents go through is exactly what would happen if it were real. The hospital, police station, everything. It seemed like a living hell for them. We also put flowers up for the service as well as tombstones in a small patch of grass we have along with the regulur program. The one thing we do differently is when we pull students from the classes, they don't come back. They do get their face painted but then they follow the grim reaper (out drama teacher) around behind him, for the rest of the day holding their tombstones for a little while until they put it out in the ground themselves. They coem to school teh next day either except for their own service. You don't see or talk to them until the next day when it's all over. The "dead" students are separate from family, friends, as well as school activities as if they were dead. It is much too real. Too many students just laugh it off or know that their friend isn't really dead so they don't care. Even one of my own teachers asked me "Well, isn't this somewhat hard to believe?" It's ignorance like that which causes this problem. I know that I personally will never drink and then drive, but that does not mean I can't be hurt or even killed by someone who does. They are out there. Death doesn't just effect the drunk driver's family but also the families of the innocent, emphasis on innocent, victims. They were killed for no reason, but were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Every 15 Minutes program is literally God's gift to drunk driving awareness! It 500% more effective than any speech from a drink driver saying to "learn from my mistakes" or even a victim who says "I am an example of what can happen to you". I do not by any means consider my self much of an emotional person, and I'm certainly not a cryer, but this got my waterworks practically flooding aorund me for the next few hours. If you are like me or think you are too tough or macho to cry, think again. Trust me, you will cry. If you don't, well then, either you have a heart if ice and stone(or none at all) or you are just plain ignorant. One person every fifteen minutes, twenty-four hours a day. That is right around 100 people a day! You do the math and see how fast this number adds and increases. Also realize how quickly you could become one of those statistics. Don't let it happen! It could happen to any of us. Know that! Jennifer Hiemstra Apr 6, 2007
| wow, i just had aevery 15 minute assembly, it really impacted me to day me school (Piner High Schoo) just had the memorial of the students who died yesterday. some people didn't take it seriously, the just thought it was a joke. It wasn't. This really made me think of what can happen, i could be hear one day and gone the other. I am really glad Every 15 Minutes was created. And thank you for coming to Piner High School. Tony Sayavongsa Apr 4, 2007
| My local highschool (San Benito High/Hollister High in Hollister,CA) just did the "Every 15 Mins" program yesterday and although i was not a participant this year, i got the oppertunity to experience it my junior year, in 2005. My little brother came home talking about it, he's a freshman and only juniors and seniors got to view it but he heard from his friends how it happened, how they felt and the impact it had on everyone who was there. He was just shocked at what they told him. My family lost my younger brother the end of 2004, who was also involved in a car accident, and of course drinking was the main factor. When i witnessed this, i was devastated. I was shocked and mentally not prepared. No one warned me, everything was still so fresh in my head. I remeber sobing for days after i viewed this, i sat in the counselors office, just crying, all my frinds just in shock. Becasue not only did the every 15 mins event shock them, but becasue they recalled my brothers accident and all the others that happened in our community. It was so hard and not only have i lost my brother, but so many friends and people that i knew in our community due to drinking and driving. This really made alot of my friends consider not drinking and driving, this impacted the school, the staff and the community a whole lot. im glad this program is spreading the word, becasue this is serious stuff. THANKS! Vanessa Hernandez Apr 4, 2007
| I am the sister of one of the students who was picked to be in this program today. I can't even begin to explain how this has affected myself and my family. I feel so fortunate to have been a part of thisprogram and to see the impact it had on my brother and his friends. People just don't understand how "Every 15 minutes" can make you experience emotions you didn't expect to until they are a part of it themselves. I will never forget what I learned and I now have a new found appreciation for those close to me and will be sure to encourage them to avoid these senseless accidents. Thank You. Shen Apr 4, 2007
| My Daughter will be participating in Every 15 Minutes in May 2007. She will become a victim of a drunk driver and will die. She asked me to participate with her and to write a letter to her as if she had died, this was extremly hard to do. I didn't know if I could be strong enough to do this. Every time I would think about it, I would start to cry, this program has become very emotional for me. I would never want to ever lose my Daughter to a drunk driver, the thought of my Daughter Angela killed would destroy me and my family's life. I know that my daughter is a kind loving person and if it means that maybe she could spare one person or touch others from drinking & driving then this is worth it. I'm very proud of her for participating in this program, It will take place right before Prom. I believe that our children participating in Every 15 Minutes will touch the student so they share with their family and friends the importance of this program and hope that nobody will have to feel the pain of losing a loved one or take the life of someone who is Loved by drinking and driving. Thank you Carpinteria High School for participating.

| my name is felicia and i am the driver of vehicle #2 in the Gentry High School every 15 minutes program. this program is amazing and i hope that someone is effected by what we have put together today. even if only one person sees the importance of not drinking and driving i will consider everything a job well done... Felicia Haeberle Apr 4, 2007
| Today is April 04 2007, Gentry high school is putting this program today, at 1:00pm. I am involved in the Car Crash. I hope this will be a good experience for me. My friend just died a few months ago in a Drunk driving crash. He was unfortunatly the drunk, and he died on impact. I hope this will help me have closure. This program is great. Angela Goad Apr 4, 2007
| I've heard of this program "every 15 minutes" ever since freshman year but I would have never thought that it would have made such a great impact on me. I've shed tears because of this program. This is such a wonderful project that turns student's head around. The whole school is buzzing around whispering about the assembly and about those close to them's death. It's heart breakning to see the videos. This program gave me and other students a glimpse of the future, of how in a flash you may die without being able to say I LOVE YOU to those close by. Thanks for everything!

| Every 15 Minutes was at my school today and yesterday, it was kind of crazy but really pretty sad cause the truth is that this kind of thing really happens and alot too... I hope people learn from this before its too late. Ashley A. Apr 3, 2007
| Last week, i participated in my school's every 15 minutes program. Even though i was only one of the "living dead," the program had a huge impact on me. I know that i will surely never drink and drive and i hope that i can share what i learned and got from this program with everyone that i know. Megan Blumenthal Apr 2, 2007
| I would like to say that I was apart of every 15 mintues in the year 2005 at Freedom High School, Bethlehem, PA. I did appreciate how they made us think about our decisions in life and also that they impacted us more than ever. I cried my eyes out when i had to sing a song as a tribute to those who had passed on because of drunk driving. i believe that this program will influence other schools just as much as it did to mine. Thank you so much and I hope for you guys to influence my sisters who are still attending that school. Thank you. cristina Mar 31, 2007
| I was actually in the program and it was the most powerful thing i've ever experienced. If you think your too macho to cry, your very wrong. I havent cried in over four years, but the emotions were so powerful and raw tonight that i couldnt help but let them out. First thing all my friends said to me was "hey bro im not drinkin anymore"
Life changing stuff right here. Tony Mar 28, 2007
| I just wanted to thank you so much for doing this program. We have currently finished day 1 of the program, and just seeing my friends die from these accidents really put it into perspective for me. It's definatly changed my life forever in a way that is benifitial. So thank you again. I think this program does wonders for high school students! Kira Mar 28, 2007
| We had our every 15 minutes demonstration today and continuing tomorrow as well . i think its a great program and i want to thank everyone who put it together at our school (ponderosa). even though it's a mock demonstration, it seems very real and i really hope this helps get the message through. i cant imagine if i had to really deal with situation. thanks again! | I AM THE MOTHER OF ONE OF THE STUDENTS WHO WAS KILLED IN THE MOCK ACCIDENT. ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE IT HAD AN IMPACT ON THE MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS, THERE WERE STILL THOSE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE. WE HAVE TO FEEL SORRY FOR SUCH UNSENSITIVE KIDS WHO STILL THINK THEIR INVINCIBLE. THANK YOU FOR THE PROGRAM I THINK IT'S FABULOUS. JOAN CIMARUSTI Mar 27, 2007

| My school is currently participating in the "Every 15 Minutes" program. We had no notice at all, which resulted in a terrible day for me personally. I have had to suffer through losing someone to a drunk driving accident. It is the worst feeling in the world, and I was forced to relive it every 15 minutes. All day. I only wish I was warned ahead of time so I could have been mentally prepared. And I wish my classmates would take this seriously. It is such and important issue, and many of them were laughing or ignoring the whole thing. Thank you for trying to bring understanding and awareness to such a painful topic. I hope I can help in the future. Thank you. Jessica Huey Mar 22, 2007
| I am a sophomore at Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead, California, and i attended last years assembely for Every 15 Minutes. After watching the tape from the year before I was in tears. The reality of drinking and driving and its fatality rate is so huge and im just so glad to see what schools are doing to teach kids about it. I think that what so many schools do with Every 15 Minutes is absolutly incredible. I can only hope that it gets passed on to many other schools. -- all it takes is one drink. victoria loeffler Mar 21, 2007
| My school just did this program two weeks ago, and it had such an impact on the students. The assembly the next day moved everyone to tears. I was on the film crew that prepared the video to be shown at the assembly the next day, so I participated behind the scenes. In a way, it was a much more intense experience, because I rode in the ambulance with one of the victims, and then when he died in the hospital, to watch the grief in his parent's faces was overwhelming. I never drank and drove before this program, and I don't plan on it now. But now when I hear friends talking about their weekend experiences with drunk driving, I am very adamant about convincing them not to do so again. To go through this two-day experience helps to instill just how much drinking and driving not only affects you, but everyone around you as well. I am so thankful for this program and the effective way in which it impacts students. Fair Oaks, CA Carissa Mar 21, 2007
| i go to royal high school in california and the past two days we had the every 15 minutes progam at our school and it definitly made a huge impact it was avery emotional day for all the juinors and seinors. stephanie Mar 15, 2007
| Just wanted to say i am a huge fan of the every 15 minutes program. I have lost two close friends to drunk driving accidents as a result of that I have become a Designated Driver. All of my friends call me to take them home. I dont care what time or what i'm doing I drop everything and go. But again thanks for showing teens why not to drive drunk maybe it will change their lives. Tama Kimble Mar 15, 2007
| My only child, Ashley Masek died last year due to an impaired driver in Carson City, NV. Young people tend to think that nothing can go wrong, but I speak from experiences that it can. I will be a guest speaker this year at Every 15 minutes. It is my wish that at least one person thinks about their decision and choose not to drive impaired. We all can learn from tragedy. Mary Hobbs Mar 15, 2007
| As A volunteer Firefighter and parent. I see this program as a great way to educate our young people. I hope to get this program set up for our local students very soon. Troy Nichols Mar 10, 2007
| My name is jennifer, i an a 29 yr old femal from athens al. My reason for looking into this program is i lost one of my best friends to a drunk driver Dec 31 2006. He left behind a wife, and 5 kids. I was also touched by a tragedy several years ago, when my young husband was drunk himself, had a wreck and killed two people, i was not with him at the time, but i have felt the pain eveyday since. My "now ex-husband" is alive and ok, he spent several years in jail, and missed all his daughters firsts!!!!! If there is any way i can keep this from ever happening again, i will. Education is the KEY jennifer Mar 10, 2007
| I dropped off my sophomore son in school 3/8 and saw all the cop cars lined up at the entrance of the school. That afternoon, I came to pick up my son to bring him and a frind to a memorial for a former Sheldon high schoolmate who passed away the Sunday before dur to a motorcyle accident. I asked the office staff why all the police cars in the school and she explained to me the Every 15 minute program. I came the next day to witness the "memorial at the school gym".
I was very impressed by the whole program and saw the impact it had on both the juniors and seniors in the gym and the family who were there to witness. I know that the we as parents could only hope that what the kids witnessed, they would put into action....to make the right choice when they are put in "the situation". This program, has planted the seed in their hearts and minds...it's up to the kids to make the right choice. God Bless all who made this happen to get the message accross to these kids. | Being a volunteer with the Nancy Run Fire Co in Bethlehem Twp, i got to participate in the rescue of the Victims. Seeing every day real accidents, i can safely say that the students who are watching the rescue are getting as close to a real rescue as they could. Still being in school, also makes it something because instead of just watching it, i am a participant which gives it a whole new feeling... Nolan Rampulla Mar 3, 2007
| Today I am wearing a "Every 15 Minutes" shirt that was my younger brothers. Knowing it had some involvment with his high school (Pahrump Valley) years of informing students about 'Destructive Decisions' I felt good displaying the message the shirt sends out. While visiting my wife at the hospital a woman asked me, "What happens every 15 minutes?" I explained, and it seemed as though I had planted this seed of awareness just by deciding to wear this shirt. I plan on wearing it more often, in fact, I might not give it back to my brother now...Just think of the impact if these were distributed to high school and college students. Most college students will stop and listen for a free shirt. Keep up the good work. Tim Mar 3, 2007
| Two years ago I was a junior at Southwest High school. Every 15 Minutes came in the spring because out of a class survey, ours was the one that appeared to have the biggest problem with drinking. We used my friend Luke's car in the crash scene because he had totaled it the year before driving drunk. We made fun of him saying that he'd be the first one to die in our class. Sarcasm. That's all it was. But a year later on January 20th, 2006, he was driving drunk and drove into the back of a city bus.
Basically, people can try to send a message all they want, but after seeing it fail, I've lost faith in our generation to make good decisions and protect ourselves.
We miss you, Luke. Desiree Mar 3, 2007
| Hi. My name is Nikki and my school is getting ready to do the every 15 minutes lesson and I am part of the collison and I have to be on the helicopter and die at the hospital. I think that this is going to be a very good learning experience for my school and we can not wait to do it. I hope my school learns like others did. Nikki Beenken Mar 3, 2007
| You guys did a mock crash/ funeral at my sons school yesterday. I would like to say thank you, He called me when it was over and said it brought actual tears to his eyes. I am very intersted if you should ever need a participant Im willing to help if it saves lives. Great job!! Dion Mar 1, 2007
| Hi, my name is Crystal Hagle I graduated last year from Analy High School in Sebastopol. When I was About 9 years ago my sister, Chrissy Hagle, and her best friend, Megan White, was killed by a drunk driver on July 29, 1998. My parents and I were involved in the every 15 minutes at her old High School, El Molino in Forestville. This program is so real... it's hard for to see what happened and to visualize that my sister went through that just hurts. Yeah some kids may think it's stupid or whatever, but it's real and hurtful. and nothing can change the future, only this program can show you the real deal, and try to prevent anyone else to go through as much pain as my family and I have. So thank you every 15 minutes for trying to reduce the drunk drivers out there, and to try and save more and more people each and every year.

| 5 years ago in my senior year of high school I too was involved in the planning and participated in the every 15 minutes program. In writing my medical school application essays I was reflecting on the most important community service experiences that I have ever had. Being involved in this program definitely tops the list. Not only was everyone that I knew impacted by the program, including my mother and father who had to write my obituary but it is truly and experience that I will never forget. Nikki Dec 14, 2006
| Hello, my name is Christina, and I just graduated from Carondelet High School in Concord, CA and just wanted to say that the Every 15 Minutes program made a HUGE impact in my life, and ever since then, I've made the decision to do everything I can to prevent anyone from driving drunk. It's definitely a worthwhile lesson and I think this is an amazing program. Thank you. Christina Pontes Dec 7, 2006
| hey, my brother is in high school, but i'm not quite there yet. He was one of the "every 15 minutes" victims and it changed his view of drunk teen driving. The fact that every 15 minutes a student leaves class is a great way to show what an impact drunk driving makes. you guys are doing a great thing for students =]...thanks and keep it up sallly Dec 5, 2006
| I'm a senior this year and last year is when the Every 15 Minutes program was at our school. I was one of the "walking dead" and it was an extremely intense experience. I really do think this helped a good handful of young adults realize what could happen. Thank you for letting me be part of that. Ashley Wehrli Dec 1, 2006
| Hey all, I was involved in the Every 15 Minutes program at my high school in March (Etiwanda High School). I just wanted to say thanks for everything you do. From the volunteers who make this program their lives and to the law inforcement personel who worked a double shift so we could hear what they had to say. From the parents who participated to the firefighters who freed me from the car using the jars of life in the program, I offer my sincere thanks. I am now at Cal State San Bernardino and making a difference when I can because every minute I'm here since that day I am forced to realize that things could have been different. If this was not just a program but real life, well, you know where I'm going. I'd be dead, for one. I am writing a research paper, of my choice, and I chose the effects of alcoholism because of the touching experience I had. In fact I was reserching and found this site. It opened many emotions. Last week, I did a speech in Oral Communications on Drinking and Driving. Its hard to get across to college students about the effects of drinking and driving, but if it stops one person . . . You know, it seems the only people who are signing are ones involved with the program. But that's ok. We show the message by how we live our lives. We show it by the way we act and refrain from enterring a car with someone who has had a few too many. We show it by stopping that person from having a few too many before he or she begins. Its just a shame that people will only learn from deaths and not from lives. Alcohol and gasoline makes a very flamable situation. This is probably the longest message, but I think it works for the people who read this. EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES changed my life and many of my friends' lives. Now it's up to all of us reading to change everyone else's lives.D Daniel T. Henning Nov 20, 2006

| I was a participant in the Every 15 minutes program at Speedway High School in 1999. This program really hit home for me. It impacted my life greatly. To this day I will not drink a drop of alcohol and drive, or get in a car with someone who has been drinking. Thanks to this program I am a different person. Regina Smith Oct 19, 2006

| hello, I am 18 yeas old and just graduated from Windsor high School to go to college. I was so impacted when you guys did the similation at my school a year ago. I think that it really served it's purpose of teaching us to be more carefull when driving out there and to not do stupid thing that will get us into trouble. I personally felt really moved by the simulation and made me take the determination to never ride with a drunk driver, and to not ever diver under the influence, although i don't drink. I thank you for the service you provide, and as volunteer my self I share the same worries you guys have towards my peers. Francisco Araujo Jul 14, 2006
| Hey...I am a junior this year and I take an online class on the side. The class talked about drinking and driving and it's affects, and showed a picture with the website below it. I somehow found your page from there, and it was pretty moving. Good job and keep doing what your doing. Thanks for making every15minutes.com - Greenfield, CA Jessica Jul 13, 2006
| My name is Matthew Reece, we had the Every 15 Minutes program at my school during my junior year, and i must say that it has made a huge impact in my life...not only the mock car crash, but the parents testimony of when her daugter was actually killed a couple years back by a drunk driver...it is a growing epidemic that is happening all over the united states, and it seems that the Every 15 Minutes Program is a type of vaccine...the program is definetly helping save lives... Matthew Reece Jun 18, 2006
